Tiling for the long haul
Operating in Christchurch for over 40 years, Brymac Tiles continues to set trends that last the distance. The Christchurch tile experts offer a vast array of tiling products, selected with care to stand the test of time.
In the last decade, tiles have hit their stride. Updating the tiling in your home can have a significant impact on the look of your kitchen, bathroom or outdoor area. The good news is that tiling trends tend to stick around for several years, so you know your choices will look good for the long haul.
Brymac Tiles have been sourcing and importing tiles for over four decades. By importing directly from European factories and selling straight from their door, the supply chain is exceptionally efficient, helping to keep prices attractive. The team at Brymac Tiles caters for budget residential renovations right through to award-winning new builds and commercial buildings, satisfying the most demanding architectural build or cost-focused client.
Based out of the modern showroom on Durham Street, you'll find clients selecting tiles, or professional designers making final selections. Tradies also visit to seek a listening ear or ask advice. Upstairs, the appointment-only studio is excellent for bespoke selection meetings or discussing large projects.
If you’re skilled with tiling and planning to complete a job yourself, Brymac Tiles has a trade store offering specialised gear, tried and tested factory-backed waterproofing, decoupling and acoustic systems. And, if you want a full supply and install service, Brymac Tiles provides that too, with a 10-year warranty on tiles, tiling materials and workmanship.
Brymac Tiles remains at the forefront of tile design trends, and the team works hard to showcase the latest ranges that have a point of difference, and that represent quality in design and materials, all at realistic prices.

Trends
While traditional stone and concrete looks are still fashionable, other textures plus larger sizes are on the rise. Glazed digital porcelain stoneware in large format tiles is undoubtedly a trend that can give that light, timeless feel. Warm stone looks are currently extremely popular in kitchens and bathrooms, and there’s an emphasis on large tiles and interesting shapes and designs, unique patterns and unconventional widths. Customised tiled vanities are also proving popular, as are channel drain tiles in the shower or wet areas, which achieve a very minimal look.
What should you watch out for when updating tiles or designing a new space?
+
Match the tile size to the room. If you’re working with a small space (let’s imagine a 3200 x 3200 bathroom or WC), an 800 x 800 full tile could look better than cutting a standard 600 x 600, and the larger tile would eliminate or minimise the need for lots of small cuts.
+
For outside, consider tiles with moderate movement which will hide dust and leaves while providing an easily cleanable and enduringly stylish surface.
