Creativity is very important to Henry Blakely. “We try not to do the same thing twice,” he says. “We love a challenge with truly unique elements that you don't see every day.”

This approach to taking on big, ambitious projects has seen Henry Blakely Landscapes deliver on some spectacular outdoor spaces that include hard landscaping, planting, outdoor rooms and structures and incorporate lighting, heating and water. The team are involved from conceptual design right through the process and beyond, maintaining the landscapes they’ve created.

The ideal scenario for Henry Blakely is getting involved at the very beginning of a project, working with the architect and clients in the conceptual design phase. “If we are able to collaborate in the early stages, we can have input into how to allow for what the client wants from the outdoor spaces in the overall plan. This makes it easier down the track to get what they want.”

The company has been steadily growing and expanding the skills and experience of the staff since Henry founded the business in 2011. Since then he has brought on people with a diverse range of experience to broaden the types of work the company can deliver. Included in the team of seven are qualified builders as well as landscape architects who bring a wealth of knowledge from a range of fields. Henry himself has a civil construction background in addition to his years of experience as a landscape designer and project manager, meaning larger scale projects can be tackled easily.

Completing a project and seeing the wishes of his customers come to life is the best bit for Henry. "I love seeing a project come to fruition for our clients," he says. "I take a personal approach to delivering on big challenges. It’s great to see clients get what they want at the end of the process. It’s a privilege to be allowed into people’s homes to do our work.”

For clients working with a smaller budget who want a great result to people who want something a bit out of the ordinary, or even extraordinary, Henry Blakely Landscapes’ small but highly-skilled and dedicated team are the people for the job. “We don’t aim to be the biggest, we aim to be the best,” says Henry.
