Functioning with style
When it comes to kitchens, bathrooms and laundries, the experienced team from Ellen Estate Interiors believes these areas should be highly functional and also completed with style.
The team from Ellen Estate has over 35 years of extensive design knowledge. Director, Michelle Laming, has been the owner of a building company, a Registered Master Builder House of Year judge and tutor for Interior Design at Ara. Michelle considers herself very fortunate to have team members with sound design backgrounds, whose life skills also include events and property management.
Michelle believes in the importance of facilitating client requests to achieve a stylish result while working within the budget, and by using all of the wonderful resources available to her. Michelle says, “Great design should be smart and easy to read. More than ever, stone and timber laminate finishes offer savvy solutions, offering a realistic look that’s more affordable if timber or stone are not within the budget.”
The company specialises in not only new builds but also the growing market of rebuilds and renovations.
At Ellen Estate Interiors, the team considers a collective cohesiveness important and love creating a feeling of calm, be it in newly built homes or renovations. The team welcomes a call from new clients to have a chat and see if they are the right fit for you and your project.

What trends are on the horizon?
Kitchens are moving into the living area more and more, with the idea of the kitchen being the heart of the home stronger than ever. Because of this, we are beginning to see more integration and joinery looking more like furniture.
Bathrooms are becoming sleeker with a definite glamour aspect sneaking in; gold accessories are still favourable, but with a more muted and classical approach.
Laundries and mudrooms have finally come into their own, being well-designed rooms where the focus is firmly on storage, clean surfaces and great design. There’s a move away from these spaces being mundane task areas towards a place you want to spend time in.
