Screens and blinds
Chris Swart of Canterbury Window Coverings outlines the many new technology options now available.
What can we look forward to inwindow coverings?
The Canterbury Window Coverings range is being extended with some fantastic technology. Some of our new systems include innovative charging options, such as a wireless charging wand and motorisation
on many of our product ranges. These can use radio frequency technology for controlling multiple shades, individually or simultaneously. Smart Drapes, for example, have taken off as they’re versatile, for any
age and lifestyle while adding a touch of elegance. They can switch from light to sheer with a twist of the wands or a press of a button for motorised versions. The benefits of motorised products mean advanced convenience through technology. It’s ideal for out-of-reach windows, couples who travel but want security, smart home early adopters, holiday homes and vacation facilities.
What is your advice on your new summer range?
We are very busy with fly screens from our key supplier, Phantom Screens, as we are the only supplier for the South Island. Customers are enjoying the quality, views and breeze without flies and bugs, and these screens are also perfect for keeping indoor pets inside while allowing a summer breeze through. They are great for rural homes. The new Soluna Roller Blinds are also keeping our team busy. Customers are enjoying the quality and price point of these blinds. Soluna is perfect for people who like elegance, and the ease of motorisation with a contemporary look. It’s 100 per cent PVC- free and cord-free, allowing peace of mind for those with kids and animals. And lastly, shutters also make a big style statement.
It’s worth mentioning we do doors too, not just windows!
What is your favourite aspect of your new products?
Soluna Roller Blinds have more than 300 fabrics to choose from – and one of them is a fantastic paper-based fabric that is in the US market already with great success.
