The wonders of wool
Wool carpet endures as a luxurious and resilient floor covering and Cavalier Bremworth is a company that firmly believes wool is worthy of our loyal following.
Wool truly is nature’s miracle fibre, offering a host of benefits that work to enhance your home with exceptional durability, softness, and performance.
For 60 years, Cavalier Bremworth has been producing the finest quality carpets made from 100 per cent pure New Zealand wool and it is this heritage, and commitment to innovation, that has seen the company supply a range of unique carpets into discerning homes all around the world.
Why should you choose wool carpet for your home?
Wool is natural, sustainable, and renewable – sheep grow a new fleece every year!
It is thermally smart, and is proven to be warmer in cold temperatures and cooler in hot temperatures. It also acts as a natural dehumidifier, absorbing and releasing moisture to help keep the air comfortable.
It is great for allergy sufferers as it is hypo-allergenic. Wool carpet naturally absorbs and filters toxins and odours that can cause irritation.
Wool offers superior comfort – it’s soft to touch and walk on.
Wool fibre is naturally resilient due to its unique spiral crimp which springs back into shape year after year.
It’s easy to clean as it has a protective membrane which acts as a natural stain resistant.
Wool is slow burning and naturally fire resistant, making it a very safe choice to have on your floor.
The quality of wool fibre is proven. New Zealand is renowned for its clean white wool and all the wool used in Cavalier Bremworth carpets is produced locally.
How to choose the right wool carpet
Colour – The appearance of colour can change in different environments so it is important to view your chosen sample under daylight as well as artificial light before making your final decision. Remember; darker colours can make a room appear smaller, whereas lighter colours can create a sense of space.
Price and Quality – Carpet is one of the most affordable flooring options. It’s usually quoted in linear metres (one-metre long x 3.66 metres wide – the dimensions of a standard carpet roll). To convert to square metres, divide by 3.66.
For quality assurance, look for the independent Australian Carpet Classification Scheme performance rating label on the back of the sample.
Durability and Gradings – The best way to measure durability is to look for an independent grading like the ACCS Residential Extra Heavy Duty Plus Stairs Six Star Grade label, which you will find on the back of the carpet.
Choosing the right style – Cut pile carpet generally feels more luxurious underfoot versus a loop pile. Loop pile carpets offer many stylish textures and designs to choose from. Combination cut pile and loop pile carpets are also available
Lifestyle needs – Whether you have kids or pets or perhaps your home gets a lot of sun, choosing the ideal carpet for your lifestyle is important and there is an option for every home. Cavalier Bremworth has developed a handy Carpet Selector Tool, available on their website, to help narrow down the search.
Order samples – Once you’ve decided which carpets you love, you can order samples online and have them delivered to your door.
