Beautiful from every angle
Laying out a room has never been easier, with BoConcept’s new collection featuring the Bergamo sofa and the Fiorentina dining table.
It’s often the way that you have your heart set on a new piece of furniture, but it doesn’t quite fit with the rest of your space, or there are too many awkward angles that make it unwieldy in the room.
BoConcept understands your quandary. Since its inception in 1950s Denmark, BoConcept has been known for creating high quality, modular furniture for the home and office with customisable features and finishes for a personalised design. The team at the showroom in Christchurch knows the struggles of interior design and seeks to help find the ideal solution for you.
The Bergamo sofa is the perfect example of how you can get past the lack of ‘fit’.
“This Italian-inspired sofa is a fabulous organic shape and has so many sweeping curves,” says Maika Grant, Showroom Manager, Christchurch. “Backs of sofas aren’t the prettiest, but with the Bergamo, it looks beautiful from all angles.”
The sweeping curves also give that sense of a little more luxury in the home. It’s not hard to see how this lounge sofa can hold the spotlight: its organic shape features rounded arms, curved, freestanding back cushions and exceptionally soft seating. Plus, the fabric is a heavy bouclé yarn, with lots of visual movement. “This fabric is very hot and current at the moment,” says Maika. “Internationally, we are seeing lots of studios using old-school upholstery fabric, which gives a real level of luxury to the pieces.”
Moving between rooms is easy with the sweeping curves of the sofa. “People often forget to consider the flow between and amongst furniture when they are designing a room, so it’s worth considering this item as a great way to create flow and ease,” says Maika.
The large increase in sustainable, tactile and heavily textured fabrics continues to the dining setting. The Fiorentina featured here has a fantastic sense of sustainability, with the table’s base looking like a sculpture or a pottery vase. “There’s almost an art installation style to the organic-shaped base,” says Maika.
Featuring BoConcept’s signature butterfly leaf extension – cleverly hidden within its striking, sculptural base – the Fiorentina is quite the show-stopper. And again, this table is a 360-degree angle experience.
Its sophisticated design offers a different view from every angle, making it the centrepiece of any room.
“For a harmonious duo, pull up the Adelaide chair in your choice of colour and fabric,” says Maika. “The legs of the Adelaide chair are nice and high, so you can still see the beautiful base of the table.”
The boat-shaped base provides the versatility for intimate dining for two (either side by side or opposite each other) and the social experience to entertain up to twelve people around the table.
BoConcept has certainly remained true to its form of being the world’s most global furniture retailer, with award-winning designers creating collections of furniture, accessories and lighting for private homes and business spaces.
With a complimentary interior design service, the Christchurch showroom on Papanui Road is a great place to start putting together a look that works from every angle.
